Maple Live Edge Table

My son and his girlfriend purchased their first home. I built this maple table for their dining area. The table is 36” wide and 72” long. The top is made from two live edge maple slabs (originally about 2 1/4 inches thick) Unfortunately each slab had quite a twist.To maximize the final thickness after flattening I had to cut them down and re-glue them. The top ended up at about 1 3/4” thick. The legs can be removed from the tabletop to facilitate transportation. The legs are attached to the tabletop using 1/4 20 threaded inserts and bolts. The holes in the top rail have been elongated to allow for movement of the tabletop. Each leg section is joined with a through mortise with a wedged tenon. I added the diagonal brace t p the bottom stretcher to prevent racking. It is also attached with threaded inserts and bolts. The table is finished with OSMO oil wax finish.

Kindergarten prize box

My 15 year old son and I just finished this box to hold the achievement prizes for my wife's kindergarten classes. Made from cedar with an OSB bottom.

Door

Sorry for the upside down pics. Made a screen door for some friends of mine. Turned out okay in the end I think but really kicked my butt. Doors are hard.
