DIY Cherry End Table
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
So i got a load of Cherry from a local sawyer. I thought about this project for a while and wanted to make something that would push myself in designing an original piece of furniture. I knew i wanted to make the top of the table float and it went from there. I used elements of mid century furniture as well as a live edge top, i like to say this piece is Eames meets Nakashima….. I like how the piece turned out even though it would be out of place in most people's homes. It was a fun build and I am glad i decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and came up with this one of a kind piece. If you want to see the whole build process, you can check it out here:https://youtu.be/Fs6cEAckXRI

Octagon Table
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
I made this octagon shaped table for our breakfast room. The table top and base (under the milk can pedestal) are walnut and spalted maple. The top is glued up in kind of a segmented fashion and the base is truly segmented. I started out with a rusted old milk can for the pedestal and sanded it up real smooth then painted it. Then I glued up and turned a base for the can to sit in. We have a small dairy and the can was in the old milk parlor that dates back to the 1940's. The lettering on the can, Lutheridge Farm is the name of our farm. I hope these pictures aren't sideways in the final posting. They are not in my picture gallery but when I upload them they are sideways and I don't know how to change it. If they are, please excuse.
