Built this desktop in 2012 from some sweet Walnut slabs I found on a vegetable farm where the family also serve as sawyers. Had the pieces joined and planed at a local mill works and brought out the remarkable wood color with no stain and Waterlox as the finish. It is mounted to the wall with two 1,000-lb. rated brackets for a clear opening under the full 8-ft length.
Never seemed to have enough lenses or bodies whenever I spent a day shooting landscapes of street scenes – so this box was built to hold four cameras and eighteen lenses. Good exercise in laying out dados. Ought to be enough huh?
