Thin Strip Cutting Jig for T.S.
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
I need to make a lot of thin strips soon and I got tired of using my primitive set ups for cutting them on the table saw and decided to make a real jig. I used whatever scraps I had and turned the knob. I put some quick reference marks on the side but I'll check anyway to make sure it's the right thickness. Pic 5 shows the last piece less than 1/32nd. I used a old ball bearing from the bandsaw so it glides smoothly. I've seen others use it and it's a great idea. I also got to use my MCLS wood threader again, boy I love those threaders for threading wood. I used it for the bottom glide for the miter slot and for the knob with some epoxy. No need for threaded inserts. Very simple to make. Why did I wait so long. Finished with OB's shine juice and waxed. I don't know how many of you guys out there have one but if you don't you should think about making one. I hope this helps out some of you jocks. Thanks for looking.

Music Box
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
“Relatively” recent project of cherry wood. Design took years to evolve, months to mature the design and size and two years to complete the display. As with my “aquarium”, besides the materials and individual design, the display and association with other objects were as important. Some would suggest the “display” needed the “staff (staph)?” to provide structure and organization to the final result, .. but I'm (in no way) a musician, my wife is, and it was more important (to me) to express the free flow of music as it is experienced by the listener. Some would suggest the display was a little too noisy (double entandre (sp?)) but (as always) that's their problem. Enjoy! I should get around to uploading another in a couple of weeks. Expect variety!
