Kenworth Dump Truck

Kenworth Dump TruckContinuing my quest to make legacy toys for my granddaughters, I just finished building the Toys & Joys Kenworth Dump Truck (Pattern number 58) for Brianna. It's made of pine and poplar with hardboard accents, and finished with Watco Tung Oil.I formed the box bed by laminating three pieces of 1/8” hardboard and edging with 3/8” x 3/8”” pine. I love the detail of this plan especially the hydraulic lift mechanism under the dump. For added strength, the cab guard was attached to the box using 1/8” dowels. I also built a storage box from 3/8” plywood to protect the truck for generations.
