My Photo Box #summerofboxes

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

My Photo Box #summerofboxesI'm really getting into the swing of #summerofboxes now, this is the third cab off the ranks. This time around I've made a dovetailed box, using spotted gum and messmate, which is sized to store just over 1000, 64 photo prints. If you're interested, click the image to see the video on YT.
About 6 months ago, I made the decision to actually try and skill up in woodworking. I've been working wood out in the shop for over 10 years, but if I look back, I can't say that I've gotten much better with time. I decided to plan out the next 12 months, with the view to improving my skills as much as I can.The first few months were all about handcutting joints, and now I'm throwing box making into the mix.
I call this, my #SummerOfBoxes, because you have to have a cool hashtag these days. :DThis box is my third in the project, and is the favourite box of mine that I've built, really happy with how it turned out, and I'm excited to see how I will improve on the next one!Cheers,
Mario

Fraternal TwinsThese are actually just test or practice pieces … the two were constructed out of a single set of 3/4” rings, split in half on the bandsaw. Each is about 2-3/4” high and 3-1/2” in diameter. The rings are 50/50 maple and black walnut. The jig is based on one by ThePapa1947 ... here's a link to his YouTube video on the jig.
