Osage Orange and Walnut Bench

Made this last year from a huge slab of Osage Orange and Walnut from NJ, USA. The Osage Orange usually don't get this big, so it was a cool find from my lumber guy. I got a little crazy with the design idea, but in my mind it was a good bye to my sailboat. The entire bench is asymmetric following the slab, and mimicking a sail – low/ wide/foot of sail to high/narrow head of sail. I know , many people don't get it – and when people walk in the room it's a love or hate relationship with that piece. Oh well. The Osage has since darkened to an awesome caramel color.And I still am frustrated with how to rotate pictures on this web site ….
