Breadboard End Joints
Furnished content. (from Popularwoodworking.com)
Cut precision joints on a large top. Breadboard ends are old devices for improving a solid-wood top. They act like cleats to hold the top flat, which is particularly important when there's minimal understructure, such as on a trestle table. …Source

Pocketknife display and storage case
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
I have a friend who retired. I made this knife display box for his retirement. It is monkey pod with a touch of cherry and walnut. If you have never worked with monkey pod, I recommend you do your homework, its interlocking grain brought a few challenges.Workability: Monkeypod is generally easy to work with both hand and machine tools, though any interlocked grain may result in fuzzy or torn grain during planing operations. https://www.wood-database.com/monkeypod/I also experienced fuzzy and torn grain during cutting, router, and some sanding. It is however, beautiful wood when you get to the end project. Thanks for stopping by.

Another owl walking stick
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
The first owl stick, I thought was cool, but, kind of thought I'd like to try again…This one came out alright. I like it. One thing, I wish I had better walking sticks with more branching at the top, but I use what I have. This stick is just that, a stick I had laying around. The owl is made out of Yew, some I was lucky to come across years past. Nice and dry. Man that Yew is hard. Cool swerling grain. I like that.Made using rotary tools. This one I sanded. The last one I did not. Thought it would resemble the soft feathers of an owl better. The sanded one shows off the wood better. This one I painted on, don't normally do that but it was needed. Added a little more paint to the prior one too. Hope you enjoy…Here's the chunk I started with.Couple of other shots…

This Project Is For The Birds...
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
For the second year in a row, one of our local bear critters decided to make a snack out of our bird feeders. Figured if this is going to keep happening, I might as well learn how to make them myself instead of buying them. This is my first go at it.
