American Grafiti

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

American GrafitiAnother car to add to my garage. This one is the American Grafiti special driven by John Milner. It differs from his car by having a sun shade over the windshield and a nitro tank on the front. Also it has a jump seat. I included a cutaway photo to show the construction. This is a scratch build so there are no plans.

Stickley 2340 Bow Arm Morris Chair in Hard Maple

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Stickley 2340 Bow Arm Morris Chair in Hard MapleHello All:
Here is my latest project, a replica of 1901 Stickley 2340 Bow Arm Morris Chair. Its made entirely of hard maple that was salvaged from the building I work in during a remodel.
Arms and back slats are steam bent (wood was soaked in Downy fabric softener for 2 weeks before steaming). Finish is medium luster polymerized tung oil from Sutherland Wells. Cushions are from a Bassett chair I bought off of craigslist just to get the cushions.
All construction is dowel-pinned loose tenon, including the through tenons on the arms.
I've never seen any Stickley done in maple and I'm pretty happy with it.
Cheers,
Jim
