Stickley No. 336 Bow Arm Morris Chair
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
From Robert W.Lang's Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture. I made a version of the No. 336 Morris Chair in quartersawn oak. The drawings in the book have enough information to make the chair. The chair is made wider than plan. I used steam bent lamination for the arms and back slats. The book has a section about Stickley's use of the quadralinear leg to achieve quartersawn grain on all four sides. I chose that style for this build. I will blog it here. The ottomans construction is the same and the side table design is from Finewoodworking article “FW1124”. The finish is stain, shellac, wipe on poly and wax. In the pictures I used couch cushions. The cushions I had made will have to be remade.
