Attached Pergola

(from Lumberjocks.com)

Attached PergolaI added this pergola onto our back patio for some much needed shade next to the pool. It is HUGE, spanning 36' x 10'. I attached it to the roof with custom made brackets from a metal shop made from 1/4' stainless steel and angled to match the pitch of the room. I mounted 10 of the brackets onto the trusses using special screws designed for solar panel install but worked great for what I needed (https://www.quickbolt.com/product/17666?parent=1149). They ensure a waterproof seal which was my main concern. All of the wood is pressure treated pine. The posts are 6×6 and are notched at the top for extra support for the beams. The beams are 2×12s and the trusses are 2×10s. I layed 1×4s on the very top, and I didn't include a pic, but I also put shade cloth over the top. All of the hardware is Simpson Strong Tie ornamental hardware. I even went through the permitting process in my county and it passes the final inspection with no issues. All in all, very pleased as we head into the blazing hot summer here in Florida!

Heavy Duty Low Boy Trailer

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Heavy Duty Low Boy TrailerThere's just something about these Low Boy trailers that gets my attention.
I really enjoyed building my first way back in July 2016.
Then a year or so ago Toys and Joys came out with a newer heavy duty one so got it but never built it because it is so long.
I ended up just building the main trailer and even shortened it up a tad so my excavator will just fit it.
I must say I don't really like the darker wheels may sand off the sides and just have the treads dark.
Now on to the semi to match it. LOL
