Phone stands
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
These are some phone stands I made for my father and his wife for Christmas. He honestly doesn't want more 'stuff/clutter' so it's challenging to find something small and useful for them. Usually we bake things. Since they recently got new phones and were using them more for news sites and books I figured I would make them some phone stands.I had a piece of walnut about the right size and knocked it out based on something I made as a test project for my wife but never did anything more with mumble years ago for my wife (she now wants a more pretty one then random unfinished redwood). If I'd thought of this a week before I would have used Shellac, but since I didn't I used spry spar varnish. Since they were already ripped to the right width I did most everything else with hand tools. The cut angle is 45 degrees, the square blocks were mounted using a dowel and are high enough to leave the charging cable in. I also hit them with the chisel for a bit more angle to keep the phone set so it won't slip out.
