Foyer Coat Hanger with Shelf
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
I made this coat/hat hanger for the foyer of my house. The front door is directly to the right of the mounted hanger.I used cherry and walnut. The main frame is mortise and tenon with the slats using kind of a half-lap joint to get some dimensionality (mortise and tenons would have been too thin). The corbels are only mortised and tenoned on the walnut uprights and the top shelf is only glued to the cherry top rail. The shelf won't be holding much weight. This is the first time that I used metal keyhole discs for mounting. It was pretty easy.I posted a video of it, if anyone is interested.
