Eucalyptus Bowl with Epoxy Inlay
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
Large bowl (11” x 6”) from a eucalyptus tree cut down in our neighborhood. I attempted to inlay green stones in the rim – but I didn't account for the fact that, because they were translucent rather than opaque, they almost disappeared into the epoxy. Much more subtle than I planned, but doesn't look too bad. (I live by the old woodworking axiom that there are no mistakes, only impromptu design changes). There were also lots of cracks and holes that I filled with epoxy so the bowl could be used for salads, etc. One particularly large hole created a little side window into the bowl. Finished with General Finishes Bowl Finish.
