I made this plant stand for a lady who wanted me to make two of them, but with turned columns. I'm not that motivated to figure out how best to glue up wood to turn the columns, and am not that good at turning, so I made this instead. If she likes it, fine. If not, I'll give it away anddecline to make the turned ones. It's 12.5" diameter on the top and about 21" high. I made it from some badly stained cherry I had. I cut the parts on my CNC and the coves on the router table. It's finished with Minwax WB black stain and rattle can Polycrylic. Nothing but the best! Actually, the stain worked great and costs only $16/qt vs almost $50 for GF's.





Projects like this can certainly be done by hand, but the CNC makes it so much easier. Once I had the design figured out, it took maybe 30 minutes to cut out the parts.
