LxWxH - Vintage Puzzle Upgrade
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
Hey Guys,I found another in the files, maybe this one you can make out more detail. This box was a souvenir box from somewhere tropical that has a sliding front panel that unlocks the lid when retracted.I saw an opportunity to build on what was existing.Basically, there is a draw bolt that I added that is perpendicular to the box's original front sliding panel. A pin in the draw bolt will align with a hole predrilled into the front sliding panel. The purpleheart pieces run perpendicular to the draw bolt. only when each other's notches is in alignment will the main draw bolt be retracted. The three little holly knobs act as the external slider handles for the purpleheart sliders. These letters in LxWxH are relatable on your phone pad, what numbers do they relate too?Easy peasy lemon squeezey, right?

Wine Rack

Elegant results from a humble beginning. Thin strips of wood littered the shop floor after I completed the doors for a custom kitchen. Throwing these toothpicks away didn't seem right, but neither did storing them. So instead I used them …Source

Blackout - Upcycled Puzzle Box
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
I came across this funky wood box, or something…The original boxy thing had the diamond shapes already out of the three sides and doors, and I added all the exotic wood parts. To me it already had a look like an antique lantern, though there was no evidence it was used as such, hmm, maybe an LED candle perhaps. If it wasn't for the cute little bubble on top of the door I might have left in in the 'another day' bin, and so it got a second chance at having a second chance, lol.So a lantern it became, though since it would never hold a candle, I did hide a super cool flashlight/lighter in the core as a juxtaposed treasure.I wish I could just show you how it all works guys, alas, the collectors of these pieces don't like all of the secrets exposed, you know how it is, if I tell ya, then I gotta take out the witnesses, lolCreate a super day guys!

Clock Box Pistol Storage
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
My latest attempt at a clock box with hidden storage. This one is Leopardwood with Maple. I always feel that little details make a difference. The overall size is 13×5.5×7” tall. Interior storage is 10.5×3.5×5.5” I lined the bottom with 1/2” Kaizen foam. I used my go-to finish that is lacquer with 10 coats sanded between each coat. I always seem to get good results with lacquer. I always use small rubber bumpers (the ones used for cabinet doors and drawers) on the bottom to protect the surfaces my clocks and boxes are set on.
