Walking stick I carved this week for the farmers market. Carved with a Dremel 4300 with a flex shaft, the wood is unknown, just a stick I picked up.

Welcome Home! Modern Version

I mentioned the modern variation of my Welcome Home plaque but never posted it. Oops! Design and build info are the same as the traditional version (see that post for details). The difference on this one is I use India ink to dye the back walnut piece and leave everything unfinished, sanded up to 400 grit for a silky smooth feel.I also like to find walnut with some imperfections to give it a more rustic look. This one had some nice bug holes that I think add character (see second picture).
