Number Nerds Unite!Just finished this commission. On the original I cut each cell and put them together like a big mosaic, this time I cut strips and routed the cells with a V bit. Not really that much easier as trying to land the router exactly where the rows meet was a booger.If I do it again I think I'll put a slight chamfer on the strips and only route the columnsBeech and an unidentified white wood. Laser engraved message.

Two decorative jewelry boxes

Two decorative jewelry boxesHello again :)
Here are two jewelry boxes I have made.
“cabinet” like box is made from combination of apricot, beech, poplar and beech plywood. It has “secret” compartment :)
Other one (simple box) is made from beech and maple. Pattern on that maple is main decoration on box.
Hope that you like this little project.

Box with sliding top.

Box with sliding top.Simple box, made from Ash 1/4” stock. Made by cutting rabets on the edges snd a dado to create the slide. Purpleheart for the turn lock, with small brass nail cinched over on the inside. Finished with Danish Oil and Howard's Feed & Wax, buffed.This was made to house a Bevel Gauge which I made last month. I lined the bottom and sides to keep it in placem Sent to a great Guy here on LJ.
