Wooden Ball w Storage

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Wooden Ball w StorageI've wanted a wooden ball that could be unscrewed into two halves. I've found that every project should have a surprise to it, like a carved signature, or threaded halves. The wood is myrtle wood, the 1.25” threads were made using a Beall Tools Tap and Die. Enjoy.

18v battery holder (3D printed or wood??? WOOD)

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

18v battery holder (3D printed or wood??? WOOD)These are for 18v RIDGID batteries – I Just (well the wife) got into 3D printing and we were looking at some cool things to print for wood working. We did find a lot of stuff you can print to use but maybe it's because we don't know much about the technology but they seem to take for ever. We came across these battery holder for power tools. Looking to print one was going to take upwards of 3 hours. Well what great opportunity to shoot into my R&D lab (my garage) to try and knock out few of these holders. I took some measurements of the battery and did some cutting to come up with a rough build (2nd pic) that took about 30 minutes. After I got/made few adjustments, knocked out a second piece (1st pic). After that I figured it was pretty well dialed in for all the measurements so I cut enough for a small batch. Didn't complete the final piece in case I wanted to make one for my dewalt power tools and I have one to fool with. Come to find out The dimension of the rail is the same size so all I need to do is cut it shorter to fit my dewalt. I can drill these into any open space I have. I may place some in permanent location and others just in random places on my French cleat by screwing on some cleats. I don't know why I made 12 since I only have about 6 batteries. Guess it's time to go buy some more tools LOL. After I was done with these I went in to check on the 3D printed one. It failed at about 85% over 2 hour into it. Settings must have been off or something
