Spiral turning #2 and two bowls

Follow on from my first spiral piece this is number 2.This time kept the base natural oak and turned the spiral is ebonised and then masked and painted with green interference paint. I also extended the support and added a ball, like the spiral ebonized and this time blue interference paint used.Also finished today as well are two spalted bowls the first being 7 1/2” and the second is 9”

DIY dust cyclone for my workshop

I had a dust collector with a dust bag. The dust bag gave away more fine dust than it trapped, so I figured I needed something better and build myself a cyclone. I bought: - a 2hp fan - a hepa-filter - a 7mm sheet of sheet metal And I had some scrap wood as well as a old garbage dumpstrr from my parents.I shaped the cyclone, buildt lid and stand from wood and connected it all. The cyclone was painted with hammer-paint.The result was greit. Good suction and there is almost no dust at all that gets through the cyclone and into the hepa filter!I'm very happy with the result!
