Cabinetto - making large spaces useable by divide and conquer

Last year we moved into a beautiful house. It is our dream house, with many dreamhouse qualities. Included was a 2nd kitchen, which instantly became mine, but it had a few bumps.Foremost of these was the large cabinet space with no division. Big hole, lot of room, impractical to store anything.Enter the cabinetto.While it's Italian for cabinet, for me, it was a smaller cabinet to break up the space of the larger cabinet.Here's what things looked like soon after moving in.Take a moment to notice that it's a lot of space, but just not used well. Three openings to make it look like you have division, but inside … not so much.I built a skinny cabinetto for the left side with a pullout for baking sheets and cutting boards.Next was to work the large center area. I had originally thought to make a larger cabinet that would take up the whole middle space, but decided, instead, to build a smaller cabinet that would only take up half the space, and give me a flat surface on top which will eventually receive another pair of pullouts. I haven't made full plans yet for the right skinny opening, but I'm thinking a vertical pullout for pot lids and such. Who knows.The build was simple, as were the materials: birch plywood for the cabinet, re-sawn yellow pine for the drawer sides, birch plywood for the front and back, and 1/4” pine plywood for the bottom.As always, comments, questions, and suggestions are welcome.
