Had this on the list for a long time. We took the window treatments down and painted over a year ago – finally got sick of the blank walls. These are simple valances that sit close to the window. The core of the box is just 8' trim boards and the moulding is wide door casing around the top and then smaller trim on the bottom. I took a little off the width of the lower trim to balance the look (you can see the portion trimmed in picture 5). The finished look is pretty clean. I did not want to use crown b/c I thought it would be too much of the same – maybe look like a forced match. One coat of primer and then sprayed gloss white for the final and they came out good. Now I can back to my chess board and a guitar stand also in progress in the shop.
