We have some unsightly electronics and outlets that The Customer wanted concealed. This wall cabinet emerged as the approved solution.Cherry case work with a single shelf, assembled with proud joinery.The front panel is Cherry with glueless kumiko made from Port Orford cedar. Behind it is some washi with embedded plant material that I judged to be harmonious with the wood colors. I also happened to have a piece in exactly the right size left over from another project.The front panel will be opened almost never, and so I did not bother with hinges and the like. Instead, I cut grooves into the top and bottom of the case and rabbets on the front panel. The panel can just be removed by lifting up and tilting out the bottom, just like a sliding door.Wall hung with a French cleat. Odie's oil finish. Read more here
