Sword handleSo, here is the back story. No s*, there I was minding my own business when a friend walks up to me carrying a handless old sword, a scabbard in disrepair, and an inadequate amount of supposed African wood I did not recognize.Because we cannot see any marking on the tang, we have no Idea how old the sword actually is.At any rate, he asked me if I could repair the scabbard and make a handle for the sword. So, here is a bit of the process and the final product. Other then gluing the scabbard back together and attaching the top ring, we left it as is just in case. The center wood is cherry, the exterior wood is the supposed African wood, the guard is monkey pod, and the finish is General Finishes salad bowl finish.
