Surfboard Cribbage Board

Made a cribbage board in the shape of a surfboard for my son's birthday. He and his girlfriend are both surfers and wanted to learn to play cribbage. Made from walnut (middle), maple (scoring lanes), sapele (outsides). I glued up the strips, then planed the blank to thickness. I then glued on a paper template I made in Powerpoint for the shape and hole locations, and drilled the holes on the drill press. Next I bandsawed out the rough shape, then worked at it with a belt sander to get all those good surfboard compound curves. But, I was careful to leave a large flat on the bottom so it doesn't rock and wobble in use. Finished with General Finishes Arm-R-Seal.
