Stereo Album Totes
Furnished content.
(from WoodNet.net)
I guy who's really into vinyl asked me to make some totes for him to store and move LP's. He has hundreds upon hundreds of LP's. I've made a couple of cabinets for some LP's, but now he wants some means to move them around. He sent me a photo of a pattern he liked and I turned it into a file for my CNC.
I designed the tote as a simple box with two wider sides, 2 inset sides, and a bottom set in a dado. Looking at the 2 inset sides, it just seemed like they should have a different design, so I created this one, with the objective to have a better hand grip for picking up the totes.
The totes are made of 3/4" Baltic birch for the two wider sides, and 1/2" for the inset sides and bottom. The sides are joined with three 1/8" loose tenons.
I made three of them. He wants three more at some point. They are 13" x 13 x 13 inside, so albums with jackets and protective outer sleeves will fit. Fun project.
