Small Platter Made From New Guinea Rosewood
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Small Platter Made From New Guinea RosewoodI had glued together 2 pieces of New Guinea Rosewood and then with a Compass drew a Circle and cut it out on the Band Saw. I already had a Narrow Blade Fitted so it saved a lot of fiddling about removing the Wide Blade I usually have fitted.
It was trimmed and smoothed on the Lathe and a Tenon created on one side. By now the wood was quite light and it would hold in the Chuck. So I Turned the Front of the Platter and sanded and finished it with SHELLAWAX Friction Polish. Then fitted the Front of Platter to the 4 Jaw Chuck with Cole Jaws. Shaped Sanded and Finished with friction polish. The Timber is New Guinea Rosewood. Given to me by my Nieces Husband, who is a Builder and Saves Off cuts For Me.
The Diameter is 7 3/4 inches.
The Thickness is 5/8 inch.
The Finish is SHELLAWAX Friction Polish.Kind regards to all Lumber Jocks…...Cliff.
