In July we spent some time with friends in Texas at their ranch. They graciously gave me some mesquite so I made this valet for their guest room from a few pieces of that mesquite. I've been wanting to get more into hand tool builds so this was a project for trying. The material is mesquite with a simple Purple Heart band for interest. I intentionally left some of the imperfections in the wood to capture a rustic Texas feel for the piece. and my miters were a bit imperfect as well. Always room for improvement, but overall happy with the finished piece.
