Oak Work Table
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Oak Work TableI built this table several years ago for my Neighbor and bartered a Mr Heater unit for my shop. Good Trade!!
It was made from Oak that I harvested back in 2008 when we were hit by a massive ice storm. My woodworking buddy and I helped clean a lot of downed oak trees from the neighbour hood and a local saw mill cut it into 4/4 and 6/4 boards, about 500 bd ft for us @ $1.00 a board foot. I stickered and painted the ends of my share and let it air dry in my shed for 4 years. When my neighbor asked if I could build him a work table, I said yeah if he bought me a Mr. Heater and a 100# Propane tank. He agreed. I used the 4/4 boards and cut them into 2” wide strips and then glued the flats into 3- 2×10” planks so I could run them thru the planer. I drilled 3/4” holes in each 2” strip 12” in from the ends and the center so I could use all thread to clamp the 3 10” sections together and to ensure they would never delaminate. I then edge banded the table with 4/4 pieces. Legs are 3×3 and rails and stiles are 4/4×2 1/2. Casters are 400# rated per caster so it will hold a LOT of weight per his request. His Wife was a bit upset cuz she said it was too nice to put in his shop!!! It's one of my favorite builds.
