“Nostepinne (or nostepinde) is a Scandinavian word that means nest-stick..The Nostepinne is used to wind yarn into a tight ball. The yarn can be pulled from the center of the ball and maintain more even tension on the yarn as the knitter uses it. These are tapered to allow the knitter to easily remove the ball from the stick.These are cherry, maple, and walnut, 10-1/2 inches long.My Nostepinnes are an optional item which can be included with my yarn bowls:
