Live Edge Bedside Table
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Live Edge Bedside TableI built this live edge bedside table during my free time over the last two months. Russian olive top, soft/silver maple legs and shelf. Finished with Tried & True Varnish Oil. The back is mostly flat (with some overhang on the top) so it can sit flush against a wall. I did some fancy haunched through wedged mortise and tenon joinery for the shelf to leg attachment. The top is attached at the back with pocket screws, and at the front using dovetailed pieces with screw slots to allow for wood movement.I won the Russian olive slab for coming in second place in the small Colorado version of the Kezurou-Kai hand planing competition last year. I also came in second in the competition before that, winning a lumber yard gift certificate that I used to purchase the maple base slabs. So I should call it the Kezurou table I guess. I made an effort to hand plane anything I could, only doing a final light sanding at 320 grit on the flats before finishing.
