Key Safe
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)
Leftovers from the last project, were resawn…
Planed smooth..
Lid/door is a book-match…corner joints are 1/4” x 1/4” box/finger joints…sawn and chopped with hand tools
Back is a 1/4” plywood panel. Sides of the case were too thin to mill grooves to hold the panel. Panel is glued to hardwood “slips”
Key emblem on the door was scrollsawn from 1/4” thick Ash, painted with silver spray paint, and attached with 3 screws.2 coats of gloss Poly, on top of a stain. Tried to get the grain to wrap around all four sides…There is a box/tray in the bottom, to hold wayward keys that nobody remembers where they go. Bar that hold 4 cup hooks is screwed in place through the back panel…a Magnetic latch holds the door shut…Something a bit different than the usual Box Projects I do…Thanks for looking in!
