I was helping a neighbor with a project that she was working on and she had her little 5 year old daughter with her. On my bench I had some small pieces of walnut that I used to cut some hearts out of for inlays that I needed for a box I was making. I was just throwing these pieces out thinking they were unuseable. When the little girl saw the hearts she smiled at me so I gave her a few to take home. After They left I thought maybe I should just make a little keepsake box for the little girl using some of the waste from making the inlay hearts. After I made it I decided to make the inserts red. Well this is what I came up with. When they returned to my shop I gave the box to the little girl; she was so happy! Made me day!
