Countertop Miter - which direction?

So my countertop layout is a large U shape, shorter on one side. See the link below. (Sorry, I have givenup on trying to include images inside my posts here.)
A 60x144 sheet of laminate covers the entire short side and all the way well beyond the outside of the peninsula leaving me with the need for a miter at the junction to the peninsula.
Which way would you make the miter for the junction to the peninsula? Option A,Diagonally or Option B perpendicular to the front and back edge of the sink side? (The dishwasher is to the left of the sink, if that matters.)
Although I think thatoption B would be easier to manage, I think I prefer a diagonal cut.
