This arts and craft cherry lamp was a design i created for my study. The finish is currently only a shelac based on the heat generated from the light. So i am testing to see how long it holds up before i need to do additional top coat treatment. 6 month so far and seems to be holding up well. The top allows light to cut thourgh in a pattern that shows on the ceiling and adds interedting shadows at night. Next time i would make it taller and more slender i think. Takes up a fair amount of real estate on the desk.I am tool poor, although my wife doesn't hhink so. So no scroll saw to do something more fancy. Most of the top was hand planed. hand sanded and finished. Some band saw work was used for the legs.
