So this being my 6th project since taking up woodwork, I got the idea from a YouTube video and pretty much just followed there instruction but made up my own measurements as I went along. I learned some new things on this project, mortise and tenon joints got the three rails, and cutting at different angles which did not cause me too many issues. I did make mistakes along the way but learnt from them. I did have a major issue cutting the bevels on the tops of the clocks because the wood was sinking in to the plastic plate as I pushed it through the evolution table saw, I could not afford to buy more oak so had to live with the unequal cuts, but to be honest it does not really notice to much. I also failed miserably in matching grain to make it symmetrically pleasing. I only realised when completed and stood back and looked. Well one was for my dad who is 85 and I gave that to him today, he was very pleased with it as was my mum. The second is for my son, I have a letter to write him and hide in a secret compartment inside the clock for when I kick the bucket
