Wavy Flag
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Wavy FlagWavy flag. I pre mill 2x pine material to 1-1/4x1-3/4 x 32 long. I then bandsaw the waves onto each piece, staggering my jig 3/4 on every piece. I then screw the pieces together and with a variety of carbide and sanding heads in my angle grinder. I shape the undulating look of the flag. I will finish sand the piece then mark off the union. Next it is disassembled and stained and charred. I now reassemble, using glue and also clamping to insure tight joints. Next I carve the stars of the union. For this I use a flexible shaft on a Dremel. When the stars are done, I will hit them with a torch to give them a charred look. 3 coats of spar urethane and it is ready for display!
