Shou Sugi Ban (burnt wood) using pine tongue and groove carsiding 6” X 8 ft.
1. burning surface with a weed torch,
2. scraping off char with a steel brush (in this case, a surface restorer)
3. stained, sealed —Minwax water based stain- Early American maple, and water based polyurethane—dries fast
4. put up on the ceilingCovers up an ugly 1970's popcorn finish drywall ceiling.
Time: 3 months for a 16'X 12' roomFun, very dirty. Wear a mask!
