Octagon Table
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Octagon TableI made this octagon shaped table for our breakfast room. The table top and base (under the milk can pedestal) are walnut and spalted maple. The top is glued up in kind of a segmented fashion and the base is truly segmented. I started out with a rusted old milk can for the pedestal and sanded it up real smooth then painted it. Then I glued up and turned a base for the can to sit in. We have a small dairy and the can was in the old milk parlor that dates back to the 1940's. The lettering on the can, Lutheridge Farm is the name of our farm. I hope these pictures aren't sideways in the final posting. They are not in my picture gallery but when I upload them they are sideways and I don't know how to change it. If they are, please excuse.
