I have always wanted to try carving a Woodsprite, and since I have a maple tree with a large knot hole, I decided to give it a resident. I studied YouTube and found lots of information…..some of it actually useful. The carving was done with a Dremel tool on a piece of western red cedar. It is about 14 inches tall and has no finish…...I just want him to weather like an old man. He was made to fit the opening and is a friction fit. I think the collar of the knot is growing and wedging him in even tighter. He has weathered a year….even Minnesota winter….and looks good.
