Musical Jewelry Box for Granddaughter
Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)
I haven't done any chip carving in awhile so figured I'd make a box but couldn't decide as to what kind of box I could make since no one really wanted anything. Then it dawned on me, my now 2-month old granddaughter needs a music box like her mother. After some thought, I chose to add a ballerina this time and decided to mimic the jewelry box picture on the site I purchased the movement from. It's made of Bolivian Rosewood, Birdseye Maple, Walnut, and Basswood. The wife drew the roses for me then I carved and painted them. The ring holders on the inside are handmade from fabric I purchased from Joann's.
