Had 50+ year old Japanese maple that fell 7 years ago. Cut it up into 5' pieces and left on the ground to spalt. Last summer milled it up. Had this 1 chunk with crazy grain and neat spalting. So made my 1st mallet styled after the one Paul Sellers makes.
