I've used raw wood coasters for years – they work better than anything else I've tried because the raw wood absorbs the condensation off the drink, and your drink never drips (or sticks to the coaster) when you lift it. Then the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the coaster between drinks.My son wanted a couple nicer looking coasters (he calls them cup holders), so I made these out of Mesquite. Raw unfinished inside, with a light wipe on poly satin finish on the exterior.Made them bandsaw box style – cut the bottom 1/4” off the blank, cut a 3” hole through the blank with a circle cutter, then glued the bottom back on.Last picture shows my shop coasters.
