Carved this for daughter-in-laws birthday. From a tree I was pruning – Myrtle I think. Should have included something for size comparison as its a bit of a monster – 45cm long (nearly 18ins). Lovely wood to carve but took a long time to dry even after most of stock removed.Axe, rasp and gouge. Sanded to 400 then salad bowl oil. She seemed to like it.
