BBQ Block

BBQ BlockHey Lumber jocks, '
Just wanted to post some pics of the latest project. A BBQ Block. This is a Redwood block that I put together from left over Redwood drops and scraps It's 68” in length and 19” in width. It's made to look 7” thick. I jointed all the boards and then biscuit joined the top boards together and simply trimmed the entire slab. I did add a thin piece of Oak to the ends to cover all ends. I glued and screwed the entire assembly using Titebond and Tru Lock screws, trying to keep the heads flush with the surface. These screws are for outdoor use and I highly recommend them. Several coats of BLO and we'll see how it holds up.I am having some thoughts about applying some film coating – maybe something from Total Boat. One pic shows the block in progress on top of my recently finished workbench. Thanks Lost Coast Craftsman.
Thanks for checking out the BBQ Block. I will try to post some better pics.
Greg
