This is a Surprise Gift for my Fruit & Veggie man's off-sider – Hot Rod Ford “C” Cab FlatbedThe story goes that Sam has been working at the shop for past two years and every time I take a truck in, to show the owner [my friend Sam] the off-sider Sam starts asking about buying tickets for the community club or how much for this one!Well with all the world in lockdown over this virus thing I spent the better part of 4 days over the weekend enjoying myself in the shed.The result is a Hot Rod Ford “C” Cab Flatbed with a lot of peterbilt detailing…The cabin is old Spotted Gum
The engine is Red Gum
The bed is pre-coated Merbau Flooring
The sides are Merbau
The radiator is sliced Merbau Decking
The front & rear bumper bars are Tassie Oak
The front mudguards are Red Gum
The wheels are shop bought [front 2” and rear 2.5”]
The axle blocks are Merbau
The fuel tanks Camphor Laurel & Australian Red Cedar
The headlights are Tassie Oak with furniture buttons
The seat is Australian Red Cedar
The steering wheel is a timber button on a bamboo skewer
The side steps are Red Gum and Australian Red Cedar

7” [180mm] highThe finish is my home made Wipe On Poly [3 coats]
30% Tung Oil, 40% Clear Satin Polyurethane, 30% Mineral Turps.And here's a few extra photos….The gift will be given to Sam tomorrow when I buy my weekends Fruit & Veggies.
I'm sure he will be embarrassed but I know he has a couple of young boys who will love playing with it.
