I held the cauls loosely in place with one hand bar clamps. Then instead of a rubber band to hold them in place while securing the band clamps I used a narrow length of Velcro. OK - maybe not fine furniture, but we need a spare bed (for guests) and sofa beds (IMO) are just not comfortable.<br /><br />I used the Create-a Bed kit from Rockler. Build was pretty straightforward (I made a few modifications to the plans).
