Jewelry armoire for Christmas

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

Jewelry armoire for ChristmasA previous customer contacted me 6 weeks ago wondering if I could build him a jewelry armoire for his wife in time for Christmas. Being just a weekend woodworker I knew it would be cutting it close. I put in some long days and got it done just in time. Made from quartersawn white oak (look at that grain!) with walnut pulls and maple drawer boxes. I ended up not having time for dovetails so went with dowels for the drawers. Finished with dye, Sealcoat, GF walnut gel stain and topped with HP polyurethane.

See, Guys Can Wrap Presents

Furnished content.
(from Lumberjocks.com)

See, Guys Can Wrap PresentsCustom boxes for bottles of wine I bought for my wife (I know nothing about wine, Tokay is good stuff, isn't it? Or should I have gone two dollars more and gone for the Boonsefarm?).It only took fifty years of perfecting my woodworking abilities, and an investment of about 40 K in tools and equipment, but I think I proved guys can wrap presents.Seriously, this just seemed like too much fun to pass up. It's all cardboard and thin wood that, had it not been for this project, would have been destined for the neighbor's firewood pile. All the nails, bent and otherwise, are only about 1/8” into the wood (I cut them all off on the metal cutting bandsaw).Anyway, I had to post these, because only fellow woodworkers could appreciate ten penny nails that appear to be driven into 1/8th inch thick wood and bent over without turning the wood and the entire project into toothpicks.I ran out of last minute time, or I would have cut some bolts and screws off and figured out how to work them into the end project.
