Display Tables
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
My wife is an excellent potter, and she wanted some simple tables in staggered heights to display some of her pieces. Here's what I came up with, after getting her approval on the design. The legs are walnut, finished with 3 coats of Tried and True beeswax and oil finish. In my testing, this gave me the richest look in walnut of the 4 hardwax finishes I tried. The tops are curly maple, and I was lucky enough to find nicely figured 13 wide stock that was milled to 12 square. I used 3 coats of Osmo Polyx for the tops. The wife is happy, and you know what they say…

Two computer desks
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
Presenting two computer desks built for family members. The story of the first one started when I stumbled upon heavily damaged Lyndon Furniture maple coffee table – too large for coffee table but showing very nice wood grain. I stripped off old lacquer and damaged areas, then applied BLO to pop the grain and applied 7 layers of satin Armor seal to a silky smooth finish. I decided to build trestle base in “arts-and-crafts”-ish style – was able to find just a few samples around. I used my new toy, Festool Domino, to build legs and attach them to stretcher. Note no through tenon joinery that I would prefer in trestle table – yet it is surprisingly sturdy. The on-desk shelf is to increase useful table surface, and to allow using monitors with limited height adjustments. The shelf is attached from the bottom of the table only – if I decide to remove it, there is no damage on the table top – no holes: This was my first project with hard maple, and I love it! Nice close pores, easy to finish and polish to almost glossy surface. The second table is for the base with adjustable height from Monoprice. Made of dark red meranti, stained with red mahogany stain, finished with Armor Seal. I made it over 7' long to accommodate for two printers, large monitor, speakers, everything.Breadboard ends are attached using 10mm festool domino tenons – glued the inner ones to both parts, glued the outer ones only to the table top, held in place by the dowels. Is it faster than traditional integrated tenants? Definitely, but still takes quite some time to do it right.

Zero-clearance Saw Top Skin
Furnished content. (from Popularwoodworking.com)
I recently thought I'd outfit my portable benchtop table saw with a zero-clearance throat plate to reduce tear-out and to prevent narrow strips from falling down through the wide throat opening. Unfortunately, the throat plate opening is very shallow and …Source
