Cigar Cases
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
These Cigar Cases are a work in progress. I made a few for myself and a friend, but now the cigars are fatter, so I had to widen and deepen the grooves. It is labor intensive as I have to be pretty precise with the cutting of the grooves with my router. on my router table. I don't like getting so close to the cutter. It will take off your finger in a blink. So I wear special carving cut resistant gloves and use a push stick whenever possible ! Cedar works the best, I tried pine and oak and birch but they are harder to rout with that big fat bit. Otherwise they look great and close up snug with the little magnets that I countersunk on each half. Be safe, wear your mask, and protect each other ! Merry Christmas, to one & all !

Sculpted and carved box
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
I haven't sculpted a box in a good while (about 2 years) since it is very time consuming and definitely generates a load of dust in my shop despite the downdraft table. I recently got a nice load of some awesome sinker cypress and thought fut the wuck… I'm going to make some serious dust.. and rejuvenate my sculpting attempts..I Got out my old faithful Makita grinder and the 3m dust mask and got to work. For years I used a Trend Air Shield Pro and it made life easier without having to have so much dust in my face. Unfortunately the Trend Air Shield wore out and quit working a good while back. Life of being covered in dust is much more bearable when my face is not covered with it. If I decide to do more sculpting I will definitely, most definitely buy another one. The box is 9×7 x 4 Spray finished with can lacquer. Shipped out today as a Christmas present

Christmas Wishes from French Goat Toys & More
Furnished content. (from Lumberjocks.com)
Perhaps, there is a better place to post this, but I figured, it was a finished project of sorts. The photographs are the progressive walk to my shop on a winter night. Certainly, there are better poets in the world, but here is my Lumber Jocks version of Twas the Night before Christmas. There are a few lines removed, and a few original lines still within because they were just meant to be. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Merry Christmas Lumber Jocks!Twas the night Christmas, when all through the shop Not a tool was in use, not even the mop.The projects were lined on the workbench with care, In hopes, my new tool would soon be there.Around the world they longed for their shed, While visions of tools buzzed in their head. And mamma binding her quilt and I with IPad in hand, Had just logged on to look for a plan. When down the road there came such a roar, I leapt from the couch and ran to the door. When what to my pondering eyes I did see, A hand-crafted sleigh, and it was headed for me.With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment that it must St. Nick.Away to the mailbox, a hundred-yard dash, I tore open the package and threw the box in the trash. The new-fallen snow glistened with glee, As I ran to my shop, it was just nature and me.More rapid than eagles my project they came, To Lumberjocks I went and read them by name. Now Pottz, Now Crowie, Now Hunter and Dutchy! On recycle, On Ivan On HTl and Little Black Ducky.I posted my projects, I sent out the call! Now build away! build away! build away all!So up to the house with my projects I flew I knew in an instant; St. Nick knew what to do.As I tossed in the bag of French Goat Toys, Out of the shop, St. Nicholas came with face full of joy.To see my shop; he exclaimed was a must, And his clothes were all varnished with traces of dust.A bundle of French Goat Toys he had slung on his back, And on toward his sleigh, he followed my tracks.A sparkle in his eye, he sprang to his sleigh, I knew in a moment; he would be back on his way.And laying his fingers in the form of a fist, I gave him a bump through the cold winter mist. With a soft-spoken whistle, came such roar In a wink of an eye, away he did soar.Away he flew without any fear. I gazed in wonder, where were the eight tiny reindeer? But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, Happy Christmas to all Lumber Jocks, And to All a Good nightGod bless us, everyone. From French Goat Toys & More - Wishing you the merriest Christmas and productive new yearCheers, KJ
